Marisol, one of our founders, moved from Peru to Utah 25 years ago and has proudly called it home ever since. One of the things she missed most from her homeland was the food—especially the empanadas. Inspired by that craving and a deep love for her new home, the idea for an empanada company was born.

We wanted a name that reflected not only our cultural roots but also our pride in the local community. That’s how Empanadas 801 came to life—combining the rich flavors of Peru with the heart of Utah.

Marisol, her husband Leo, and their daughters have been successfully running the Empanadas 801 booth at local events, and doing Catering for local companies and private parties for two years now, and are excited to finally have a storefront location for Empanadas 801, where they plan to welcome everyone and give them an authentic taste of Peru.
